The mockery of demasculinization of men who engage in social media prompts exist as a form of vengeance towards patriarchy. In today's world where time travel has partly been put into existence by the use of internet archives as a portal to the past, people have been made aware of the inequality and oppression women have gone through. Needless to say, embers of it, although have considerably been extinguished, still continue to live on. Women have always been seen as emotionally driven, and physically inferior to men. In turn, they have been looked down upon, systematically discriminated against, and fluently disparaged. The concept of feminism has been talked about in almost every space on social media and a lot of people have seemingly resonated with its principle and turned “feminist”. But at the rate of the exchange of information and communication in a vast universe of the internet, reiterations erode feminism’s potency. Over time, feminism shared its borders with misandry, almost like it has become its inherent meaning. Interestingly, slang words such as “girlboss” and “mansplain” appeared. These words indirectly represent the way the internet evolves in favor of women and harbors disdain towards men as a form of putting women on a pedestal as reparation. This growing dynamic is comparative with the idea that one cannot be racist towards white people for it needs structural and systemic power to be considered as is, one can only be prejudiced towards them at most. Social Media has evolved enough to cater to people’s self expression. It enabled creativity and simultaneously encouraged inspirations. Dumps are one recent example of one, where people compile photos they took on their accounts or stories as a leisure activity and some sort of sneak peak to their lives. These things are not exclusive to a certain group of people, subsequently, everyone including men do it. Herein sprouts the pivotal opposition between masculinity and femininity. Essentially, men have also been unconsciously subjected to stigmatization when society imposed unto them traits like “boys don’t cry”. This alone suppresses men emotionally that leads to a dysfunctional and fatigued people. Men are craving something new. In today’s generation, most evidently on the internet, they are observed unfurling out of the old fashioned definition of what manhood truly is with the central idea of rejecting “fragile masculinity”. This ultimately leads to the comedic insinuations of homosexuality towards men who do participate in trends and who generally are engaged in social media. Although on the surface, it might seem like typical deprecating internet humor, if you look closer, this is heavily influenced by the idea that it's unfair that men only incentivize femininity at their own benefit especially in the view of the fact that they used to once disavow and scorn the very thing. Finally, although the current disposition of the relationship of masculinity and femininity indubitably remains separated and still plays a vital role in social, political, and economic scene, it is worth note taking that the reconciliation of the two hints at the people who it unequivocally nested on to give expression of both.
